The 12 Principles of Animation

With the 12 Principles of animation, they are used a lot in animations to give off different effects such as squash and stretch for a bouncing ball or follow through and overlapping actions for carrying an object or a characters head turning.

The fundamentals that are used in the animations below are slow in and out as well as the use of arch's in the graphs.

Pendulum

Animation of the Pendulum

With the pendulum animation, it requires the use of one of the 12 principles of animation which is slow in and out. At the beginning, the pendulum slows down when it gets to the highest point of each side. As shown below on the graph, where the arch's are on the graph are when the slow in and outs are for the movement of the pendulum.

Chain

Animation of the Chain

With the chain animation, I had to move individual points of the chain from the top working my way to the last piece of the chain.

Graph of Chain Animation

With the graph for the chain animation, it is not as important as the graph for the pendulum animation because with the pendulum animation, you would need to edit and add additional points to the graph for the pendulum animation to have a bit of suspense. With these two animations, I did not really have any problems with them because my main focus with the pendulum animation was getting the graph right and my main focus with the chain animation was getting the right arch as the chain goes from side to side.
