NOEL ANIMATIONS
Industry Engagement
On this page, it will showcase the events I went to during my spare time as well as talks I had listened to from people in the industry.
Escape Studios
As they were doing a short induction day-like event, I went to 'Escape studios' along with one of my peers, during the time we were there we were told to animate a bird, though animating animals is not my strong suit I decided to try and give it my best shot.
Like I would usually do, I got a clear bird reference, used the rig that was provided to us and started the blocking process of the animation.
After the blocking stage I moved on to spline and polishing the stationary bird animation which I then proceeded to move on to importing the animated bird into the stage we were provided with.
EWAFE: A Visual Journey
This event was a photography event by Ray Mfon, which showcased his 3 month journey in Uganda.
I attended the event mainly to support a friend of mine but as I continued to look at some of the photographs he had taken, it was almost as if I felt some type on emotions though the photographs. Unintentionally, I believe that this exhibition is part of the inspiration of my FMP. Shown below were some of the photographs that were showcased at the exhibition:
Talk: Mark Brown - Previs Animator
Mark Brown came into Ravensbourne to have a talk about previs animation and showcase some of his work, even though it is not related to my industry, I thought that some of the things he had said were very useful and I took some notes during his talk which is shown below.
From Mark Brown 's talk, I have learned that Unreal Engine specifically is slowly become a software that is seen as an essential and from what I have noticed with the game industry, it is being used more and more commonly in companies which is why it is important to learn and master at least the basics of Unreal engine.
